Mission Statement

DEFINITION :

A collective is a group of entities that share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective. Collectives differ from cooperatives in that they are not necessarily focused upon an economic benefit or saving (but can be that as well).

SOLO PROJECTS STUDIOS MISSION STATEMENT:

OUR DEFINITION OF AN ARTIST AS IT PERTAINS TO THIS DOCUMENT:

An artist is any individual who creates. Their creation could be audio, artwork, copy, story content, web design, programming, marketing, animation, modeling. It could also included other services we have not listed. This includes labor that allows other individuals to reach an end goal of creation.

AN EXPLANATION OF WHAT THE SOLO PROJECTS STUDIOS IS AND IS NOT :

The Solo Projects Studios is an Artists Collective created by J. L. Christian and managed by Darby Orozco. It’s goals and purposes are this:

To become an entity where artist may come together on a per project basis to build products. All participants are allowed a percentage of profits based on their level of involvement during Pre-production, Production, and Post production. This percentage is determined by The Solo Projects Studios and the artist in advance.

The rights to each project are protected by The Solo Projects Studios and the artist who started their individual projects. But artists maintain the right to self promotion on all their code/artwork
as soon as the project is released to the public. This freedom is intentional. To make it clear The Solo Projects Studios does not believe in competitors. Any artist or programmer is free to pursue any other project he or she chooses. But it is understood by all parties, that during the Pre-production, Production, and Post Production process that some of the projects may not be made available to the public.

This protects all parties involved and allows us to earn an income from our work.

It is also understood by all parties that they are NOT employees, partners, or owners of The Solo Projects Studios. They are free-lance entities that have agreed to participate on a project by project basis .It is also understood by all parties that their involvement entitles them to receiving a percentage of future profits from the project they participated in.

J. L. Christian and The Solo Projects Studios reserves the right to change these policies as it sees fit to maintain proper progress in fulfilling the goals of all the artists involved. all artist involved will be allowed input in the decision making process.

OUR INTENTIONS :

Our intentions is to provide an environment to free-lancers from all fields to participate from time to time on large scale corporate projects that normally they could not create on their own. But also allow them the freedom to return to their own businesses as soon as each project is completed. In the end our intention is to help improve the income level of the individual artist by providing them with repeatable profits from these large scale projects. Typically artists never receive profits from their work. The companies may generate profits for a decade on a single product and the artists that created it get nothing.

At times projects may be “Open Source”. If this is the case the entire project will be made freely available to the public upon project completion.

Also The Solo Projects will do whatever they can to help further an artist’s career. We will provide letters of reference upon successful project completion and Name Credit for your work. My personal goal is to allow creative individuals an environment to flourish and grow.

OUR EXPECTATIONS :

If any individual choose to participate in any of our projects it is understood that they accept the percentage of profits that we have determined they deserve based on their level of participation. At that point we expect the individual to act in a professional fashion and complete his work in a timely fashion dictated by the production schedule. If an individual can not complete his workload for any reason it is understood that he will have to lower his percentage of profits and that same percentage will be awarded to a new artist for completing his/her work for him. In addition if it turns out that an artist must cancel
because of any outside situation that his percentage of profit is forfeit and will be awarded to the artist that replaces him/her.
